Shannon’s got withdrawal symptoms…Bless her.

 My first…no my only grand child...Shannon Skye bless her really does have 

withdrawal symptoms...NO her mums not and has never been a junky…

Shannon’s being weaned from her dummy…her crutch…her comforter. When 

I saw her whinging for her dummy the second day it really did remind me of 

what it was like for me when "I Quit Smoking".

She is coping really well…especially when you consider she’s only twenty one 

months old…nearly two in old money. She does have her favourite blanky which

has gone almost everywhere with her since day one really. No not only day one 

of the withdrawal symptoms silly…keep u will ya…I meant since day one of her 

...Short little life.

Each and every day of her existence seems to bring about little but significant 

changes… Not only in the way she looks. The fact that she seems to be growing 

like a bean-pole...I mean quickly although she is really skinny…well skinny with a 

well rounded sort of pot-belly…like a very mini Buddha...

But also in her characteristics, her behaviour, her 
little bits of individuality that are coming through.

Although I own a video camera its amazing that when it’s safely put away 

there’s always a classic perfectly natural you’ve been framed moment 

occurring. If you know what I mean…

For instance the other day I said to her Shannon pull your little stool up to 

the table a bit more, she stood up and done nothing…up I got went and moved 

the stool just as Shannon decided she would sit back down…yep you got it she, 

Shannon sat down right where the stool was…not is!! 

Hilarious absolutely brilliant,...Priceless.

She seems to learn something new daily really…she’s started saying uncle’s 

names a lot really clearer now. She’s always dancing around to In the night 

garden, Thomas the tank engine, Bob the builder…Happy feet...Fi-Fi and 

the flower girls... or some-other one or other of her favourite DVDs.

I guess I really have been at home far too long...I mean I sing along with Shannon

at most of these now...I know all the words, most of the characters and 

embarrasingly enough...Think most of them are some of the best stuff on t.v. 

at this present time... 

I suppose I notice more than most other people because I’m fortunate enough 

or un fortunate enough to be at home all day nearly every day…since I had an 

industrial accident at work last year. So I see the little changes as they happen 

so-to speak…

I suppose the next big venture will be the potty training!!…

Shannon does go quite a few afternoons for a couple hours at a time without a 

nappy...But as for using the potty yet alas...NO...Well not for going to toilet in 

it anyways, although she does put her pens and pencils in it occasionally…OH 

and...Of course she wears it on her head...

She seems to be teething or at least she folds her blanky puts the corner of it in her 

mouth and seems to bite down quite hard onto it…so I’m assuming that 

alleviates some of the pain of teething.

OH YEAH I NEARLY FORGOT ALL ABOUT THIS...

Shannons, Getting a Brandon...A little biddy brother...

Yes it`s perfectly true...Her mum...My daughter Claire...(keep up will you) is 

in-fact having an-other baby...Although I don`t suppose it/HE...Will be a bit 

like Shannon.
